NECBL Champions - North Shore Navigators

The North Shore Navigators had a Cinderella Season, starting off going 0-6, but turned it around very quickly to end the regular season in 2nd place and earn themselves a playoff spot.

In the first round the Navigators had to play the Stanford Mainers. Where in the regular season they went 1-5 against, but that did not matter in the post season. The Navigators took advantage of getting home field advantage in games 1 and 3 at Frasier Field to win the best of 3 series.

After defeating the Mainers in two home games in the playoffs. The Navigators found themselves traveling to Newport for games 1 and 3, with the Gulls having taken 1st place from the Navigators in the regular season but the Navigators getting the better of the Newport Gulls in the only away game victory in the post season. To win the best of 3 series. After finishing 2-4 against the Gulls in the regular season.

Finding themselves in the NECBL Championship series the North Shore Navigators, were to face the Danbury Westeners whom the Navigators did not do too well against in the regular season, failing in both games. On the other hand, the Navigators had a better record. Therefore they got to host games one and three, and in this kind of a game, being on your own field and having your fans in the crowd make all of the difference.
